Lightning Strike Twice With Two Returnees |
|
MK Lightning are pleased to announce the return of netminder Barry Hollyhead and forward Michael Wales to the squad for the upcoming season. Barry returned last season after two season’s away and was one of the most consistent performers on the team over the course of the season. Barry came second in team voting for the Players’ player of the season and we are expecting another strong season from him.
Michael, known to all as Muzzy returns for his fourth full year with the squad after starting last season in Coventry with the Blaze. He will bring grit and determination to the team and will be back to his annoying self, irritating both opposition players and fans with his energetic performances.
Nick on his two returnees, ‘I am very pleased to be bringing Barry back as he proved last season that he is one of the most consistent and reliable netminders in the league. Barry is efficient and does not look to make a save any harder than it is and above all he has the trust of his teammates which I feel is the most important aspect of any goalie. I know Barry is excited to be coming back as the starting netminder and he is also aware that he is going to be pushed by David Wride.’
‘Muzzy comes back to us with a few things to prove after having a slow start to his season last year. It was a big step up to the Blaze last year and I admire him for giving it a good go. However, when he came back to us at Christmas his confidence was down and it took him some time to get back to playing the way both he and I expect. I thought he finished very strong and I will be looking for that from the season’s start. He needs to play with controlled emotion and intensity every night and I know he is chomping at the bit to get the season underway. I want him to be one of the most hated and irritating players in the league next year.
