Match preview: MK Lightning vs Bracknell Bees Saturday 6th October 2012
The Milton Keynes Lightning take on Bracknell Bees this weekend in the second double-header of the year so far, and Nick Poole’s men will want to continue last weekend’s form which saw them dominate against Basingstoke Bison at the Thunderdome, sealing the win after penalties – despite missing two forwards.
MK Lightning forward Adam Calder is heading back to North America this week - but Lightning supporters can relax, it's only a flying visit. The reason? Adam is to be reunited with his team mates from the University of Dakota ice hockey team which won the men's National Collegiate Athletics Association hockey championships in 1997, for their induction into the university's prestigious Hall of Fame.
The Milton Keynes Lightning play their first double-header of the season when they take on the Basingstoke Bison this Sunday at the Thunderdome. And like the recent pre-season warm-up games against Peterborough, some close season player transfers between the teams will add some spice to the fixtures. Lightning go into the games on the back of a morale-boosting 8-2 victory over Manchester Phoenix last weekend, followed by a 5-2 away defeat to Guildford Flames.
