Leigh Jamieson scored inside the first minute for third time in four games to send Lightning on their way to a 4-1 victory at Telford Tigers. The opening strike – set up by Adam Brittle with a further assist to Blaz Emersic – came on just 32 seconds. It proved to be the only goal of a first period which saw Telford twice penalised for tripping and interference while the home side had one powerplay when Emersic was called for a delay of the game at a face off. Tigers almost got an equaliser inside the first couple of minutes of the middle session but they were thwarted by the heroics of Lukas Zatopek who threw himself at the puck to block the shot. Zatopek made it 2-0 on 29mins 8secs with a goal assisted by Jamieson and Brittle. On 32mins 42secs the lead was stretched to three when Michael Farn set up Tom Norton for his first goal for the team. Scott McKenzie got Telford’s only goal after 48mins 15secs and although they called a timeout with 3mins 6secs remaining it proved to be of no avail as Nick Poole, helped by Adam Carr and Juraj Gracik, bagged Lightning’s fourth goal at 59mins 4secs.
