Jamie Line bagged his first goal for Lightning as they saw off local rivals Peterborough Phantoms 4-2 at Bretton.

It was Line’s goal – scored from the halfway line – that put Lightning ahead after 54mins 59secs just as the game looked as though it might be heading for overtime.

Adam Carr then capped a four point weekend for the team with the final goal from Juraj Gracik’s set up with just 19 seconds remaining.

The game got off to a dramatic start with Blaz Emersic supplying Leigh Jamieson for the first goal after only 24 seconds.

It was the last major part Emersic played he was ejected from the game after clashing with Phantoms’ Jeff Glowa in the sixth minute, the Canadian received a chin injury when he fell on Blaz Emersic's skate. He also played no further part.

Luke Ferrara pulled a goal back for Peterborough after 11mins 19secs – the period ending 1-1.

Michael Wales restored Lightning’s advantage, scoring on 36mins 17secs from Matt Towlaski’s pass while the sides were four on four.

Peterborough levelled on 53mins 5secs when recent recruit Robbie Brown scored from Richard Bentham’s feed. But it to be of no avail to the home club with Line and Carr finishing them off.
