Lightning edged out Swindon Wildcats 3-2 on a night when their powerplay unit finally managed to produce goals. However fans had to wait until after the halfway stage before Nick Poole was provider for Leigh Jamieson to score after Wildcats’ When former Lightning defenceman Shane Moore was sent to the sin bin for holding in the 38th minute the home side were quick to take advantage. It was Jamieson again on the mark from Blaz Emersic and Adam Carr 46 seconds from the second break. If Lightning thought they were going to have it easy in the third period they were given a rude awakening with Michal Pinc striking on the powerplay at 45mins 1sec – Lewis Christie taking two minutes for holding.
A delay of the game penalty on goalie Michael Farn gave Swindon another powerplay and Pinc duly obliged with a goal at exactly 51mins. It was down to an unassisted Carr after 57mins 47secs to ensure Lightning of both points.
