16.10.11 Telford v MKL

Telford Tigers were beaten for the second weekend running when Lightning left it late to come away from Shropshire with a 3-1 victory to go joint top of the English Premier League.
The points were not really sealed until captain Adam Carr shot home from a Leigh Jamieson pass in the 51st minute.

Telford were given the first powerplay chance of the game when Tom Norton was penalised for hooking in the 16th minute. But although they were unable to take advantage of having the extra man they did go in at the first break 1-0 in front thanks to a goal from Josh Bruce assisted by Luke Brittle 19 seconds from the interval.

Tigers were unable to extend their lead when afforded a five on three powerplay with Michael Wales (interference) and Norton (delaying the game) were both sin binned within seconds of each other.

A too many men on the ice penalty proved costly for Tigers in the 36th minute with Carr the provider for Michael Farn to equalise on the powerplay in the 38th minute.

Blaz Emersic collected his third goal of the weekend in the 45th minute to put Lightning in front for the first time.
