Swindon Wildcats were no match for Lightning who raced to a four goal lead at The Link Centre before the Wiltshire side got on the scoreboard.
The previous evening Wildcats had suffered 9-3 loss against Manchester Phoenix and, following recent team changes, they had high hopes of upsetting Lightning.
But Monir Kalgoum set up Gary Clarke for the first goal on 7mins 9secs and the visitors went into the first break two goals to the good thanks to a further strike from Adam Brittle on 18mins 18secs – again Kalgoum got the assist.
MK opened the second session with a two goals in the first 90 seconds from Lukas Zatopek and then Leigh Jamieson to make Swindon’s task almost impossible.
To their credit they did get one goal back when Toivo Suurso offered some hope as he slotted in after 23mins 13secs.
By the second interval Lightning were 5-2 in front with Brittle bagging his second goal after 34mins 2secs before Matt Foord added a second for Wildcats.
Michael Wales set up Adam Carr to make it 6-2 with Zatopek wrapping things with 1min 11secs to go to the final buzzer.
