Week 1 of the League - 4 points

MK Lightning started their League campaign in good form with 2 wins out of 2.

Firstly MKL v Guildford Flames - saw a brilliantly loud crowd, proving, as always they are the best in the league and getting behind Lightning.

Flames scored first from Ex MKL players Gary Clarke from Rempel, Liddiard, but Lightning answered at 9.51 with a Lukas Zatopek slap shot from Andre Smulter and Monir Kalgoum. So all even at the end of the first period.

The second period saw Lightning come out and play a brilliant period and it resulted in a second goal at 20.31 from Monir Kalgoum from Andre Smulter and Ross Bowers.

Flames came back at  35.55 Masa from Smital.

The third period saw Ex MK Junior Leigh Jamieson score his first for Lightning this season and made the final score MK 3 - 2 Flames.

Sunday was and away game at Bracknell who had had a heavy loss at the hands of Slough on Saturday. 

Lightning were without Jacob Heron who was on Thunder duty.

Andre Smulter started the scoring at 11.45 from Lukas Zatopek shortly followed by Grant McPherson scoring at 15.22 from Michael Wales and Matt Towalski. End of first period Bracknell 0 - 2 MKL.

Captain Adam Carr scored at 21.51 assisted by Adam Brittle and Nick Poole. Then 29.17 Andre Smulter gets his second of the evening - and short handed goal.  Bracknell come back with 1 goal to make it Bee's 1 - 4 MKL at the end of the 2nd period.

Period 3 and Michael Wales scores at 51.11 for Lightning, followed by a goal from Bracknell leaving the final score Bee's 2 - 5 Mkl.
