"A real talent with an incredible work rate" - that's the view MK Lightning head coach Nick Poole has of defenceman Ross Green, who has committed to the side for another season. At just 20 years old, Green has impressed at both league and international level, establishing his credentials as a star of the future.
Ross has worked his way up through the MK youth system under the watchful eye of coach Poole, playing for the MK Storm junior side then ENL side MK Thunder before becoming a regular in Lightning colours.
He is yet another of the Lightning squad whose abilities have earned him international call-ups, playing for Team GB at U18 and U19 levels - and most recently last winter in the world junior championships at U20 level.
"We are delighted to be bringing MK junior product Ross back for another year", said Nick Poole of his latest signing. "He was a revelation last season, it's incredible to think he's still only 20 years old. He is naturally fit and is determined to play his best for the team every time he laces up his skates - a real talent with an incredible work rate.
"Ross is a rare player that gives up much of his time to help out with the current MK juniors. He is a player that all of MK are very proud of, and someone I see captaining this side in the future".
Ross said, "I'm delighted to have signed for my third full season. Not qualifying for the play-offs in April really hurt, and I know how disappointed the players all were by failing to get to Coventry - but I really believe things will be different next April.
"The team Nick's putting together will be very competitive, and we can repay our fantastic supporters by winning some silverware. Roll on September!"
