We are pleased to confirm details of the Planet Ice Shield which will see 3 teams from the English Premier League battle it out for the opportunity to win some silverware in a two leg final. Milton Keynes will compete with EPL newcomers and former Elite League team,
Despite not having the influential Lukas Zatopek, who is out with a broken finger, Lightning managed get clear at the top of the table last night last night with a 3-1 win over Peterborough Phantoms.
Nick Poole scored a fabulous top shelf goal to start the scoring, Andre Smulter then followed with a dramatic goal after a trip. Phantoms never gave up and scored at 58.17, Lightning secured the win in front a large and very vocal home crowd with an empty net goal by Andre Smulter again at 59.59.
