Despite not having the influential Lukas Zatopek, who is out with a broken finger, Lightning managed get clear at the top of the table last night last night with a 3-1 win over Peterborough Phantoms.
Nick Poole scored a fabulous top shelf goal to start the scoring, Andre Smulter then followed with a dramatic goal after a trip. Phantoms never gave up and scored at 58.17, Lightning secured the win in front a large and very vocal home crowd with an empty net goal by Andre Smulter again at 59.59.

After the opening fortnight of the new season Player/Coach Nick Poole tells his players not to get too carried away by the teams position that sees them top of the EPIHL Premier League with the only 100% record after four straight wins. "Whilst I'm absolutely delighted at the start we have made it's far too early to get to get too focused on League positions.
MK Lightning played Bracnkell at home tonight and managed a win with the final score 4 - 2.
Lightning opened the scoring at 17.29 with a goal from Adam Brittle from Nick Poole, shortly followed at 17.49 with an Andre Smulter goal from Monir Kalgoum and Michael Farn. Enf of the first period MKL 2 - 0 Bee's
Period 2 saw Bracknell come back at Lightning scoring at 33.44 and 35.10, goals from Cesky, Pinc, Dumas, then Cesky, Moore, Pinc respectively, but Michael Wales scored a very important goal at 39.09, from matt Towalski at the end of the second - MKL 3 - 2
The third had it all to play for and was a tense affair, but Lightning managed to secure another win with Andre Smulters second goal of the evening from Monir Kalgoum again.

After a small delay due to Romford having bus trouble Lightning started off brightly tonight and came out to score at 16.22, Adam Carr from Nick Poole from Michael Farn and it ended like that at the end of the first period.
