MK Lightning know exactly the areas where they need to improve following last weekend’s defeats at the hands of the league’s top two teams, according to head coach Nick Poole – and they intend to start their revival against Telford Tigers this weekend (Saturday 19 February, 7pm)
The fund for Milton Keynes schoolgirl Millie D’Cruz to have the medical treatment she desperately needs is almost £1,700 better off thanks to the generosity of MK Lightning Ice Hockey Club, their supporters, and rink owners Planet Ice.
Despite losing to closest EPL rivals Slough Jets last weekend, the only way is up for Milton Keynes Lightning, according to the team’s hot-shot forward Andre Smulter.
MK Lightning player-coach Nick Poole has urged his team to put last week’s home defeat at the hands of Guildford Flames behind them, and concentrate on picking up points from this weekend’s home fixture against Basingstoke Bison (Sunday 6 Feb, 5.30pm).
With Lightning away at Slough on Saturday 5h Feb and home to Bison on Sunday it was a weekend with a rollercoaster of emotions.....

Safety first is the plan for MK Lightning this weekend, and smothering Guildford Flames before they pose any real danger will be the aim of the home team at Planet Ice on Saturday (29 January, 7pm).
Reigning EPL champions Milton Keynes Lightning showed they have no intention of giving up their crown without a fight, sending title pretenders Manchester Phoenix home empty-handed after an electrifying match saw the home side emerge worthy 6-3 winners in front of a packed crowd (Saturday 22 Jan).
With seven goals from seven matches, a ‘warm welcome’ simply isn’t enough for Milton Keynes Lightning’s newest signing Blaz Emersic – so a Red Hot welcome has been arranged for supporters to meet the team and its newest hot-shot.
The MK Lightning squad will be eating out in a private dining area of Red Hot World Buffet in Central Milton Keynes on Monday 31 January and a limited number of places are available for supporters to join the them for the evening.
