MKL Looking To Improve

After the opening fortnight of the new season Player/Coach Nick Poole tells his players not to get too carried away by the teams position that sees them top of the EPIHL Premier League with the only 100% record after four straight wins. "Whilst I'm absolutely delighted at the start we have made it's far too early to get to get too focused on League positions.

What's far more important to me at this stage of the season is our performances on the ice and the fact we keep on improving game by game". "I thought we played two very solid games against both Guildford and Manchester but felt we weren't really at our best in our other two games. We know we can play better and I am certain we will improve as the season goes on." "It is key that we do not to get too far ahead of ourselves and that we focus on each game as it comes' This weekend the MK Lightning have two tough games at home on Saturday against a much improved Bracknell Bees side and on Sunday away to a Phantoms side that are much better than their current position would suggest. "The season has a lot of twists and turns to go, and no doubt teams will change positions many times throughout the season so as long as we stay focused on each game at a time our objective remains to be one of the top four teams going into the playoffs."
