MKL Go Green On Blue Line

The Milton Keynes Lightning are thrilled to announce the signing of local talent Ross Green for the upcoming season.  The defender will be signing up full time as last year his main commitment was the Milton Keynes Under 18's who won the Southern England Under 18's league.  Ross is an outstanding young talent who also starred for the GB Under 18's in Poland at the 2010 World Junior Championships.

Nick Poole had this to say of his recent capture, 'Ross is a player that we are expecting to have a breakout year for us.  Last year he got his feet under the table and the main objective for him was to gain some experience and get comfortable with our league.  He never looked out of place and for a player that is still very young he has a great maturity about his game.  This year we are bringing him in to make us a better team.  He is very coachable and is keen to improve all the time.  I believe he will be one of the best British defenders playing in the UK within a few years'.

Nick went on to add, 'Ross is a real credit to the MK Junior Program and to all young British players.  In all my years over here I have never seen a British player that is so keen on putting time and energy back into the sport.  He spends countless hours out on the ice with the juniors in MK in a coaching capacity tyring to help develop the next crop of young stars.  Having seen him develop from his first time on the ice to where he is now I am very proud and pleased for Ross and look forward to the coming year'.

Ross on signing for MKL full time. 'I am exicted about my first full senior season and I cannot wait to get going. I am looking forward to the challenge and hopefully more success with the team. I want to develop and improve as a player over this coming season and there is no better place to do this than here at MK. Nick, Harry and Vito are putting together another great team with a great bunch of guys, both on and off the ice, that i can learn from as I continue to develop.

Ross will be wearing number 21 for the upcoming season.
