MKL Finalize Roster With Two Key Signings
The Milton Keynes Lightning are very pleased to announce the final two signings of the summer in import forward Andre Smulter and young British defender Lewis Christie. These will be the last of the summer signings although there will be players added to the squad through the summer trials that are happening at present. Andre comes to us having played in some of the top leagues in both Europe and indeed Asia where he has put up good numbers wherever he has been. The talented Finn has played most of his senior hockey in Sweden with stints in Italy, Finland, Norway and Japan. Last season saw Andre playing in division 1 in Sweden where he helped his team get promoted to the next league. Andre will help spearhead our offence this coming season.

Nick on Andre's arrival, 'we are very pleased to be bringing someone in of Andre's caliber and believe he will be a massive part of our team this coming season. He has played at a high level his entire senior career and has always been amongst his team's top offensive players. I know he is very excited to start this new chapter in his career and we feel he will be an excellent addition to the team.'

Lewis Christie comes to MKL after playing last season in Belfast. Lewis is a young defender who has played for GB in the junior ranks and will be a part of the GB U20 squad this coming season.

Nick on capturing Lewis's signature, 'We were very interested in getting Lewis on board last year but after skating in Belfast at the start of last season he impressed so much that they kept him. This year Lewis wants to play more and he knows coming to MK this will happen. He is young and ambitious and we are extremely pleased to have one of Britain's up and coming talents putting on the black and gold this coming season.'

Nick went on to add, 'These two signings round out our team and we are incredibly excited about the team we have put together. We know that other team's have strengthened as well and are looking forward to what should be a fantastic and competitive season in the English Premier League.'
