The Milton Keynes Lightning are very pleased to announce that Adam Carr will be wearing the 'C' for the forthcoming season. Adam will be the third captain in the team's 7 year history. The 25 year old has been wearing the gold and black for six years and thoroughly deserves the recognition of being club captain. His consistent performances, two way play and leadership have become a platform from which we hope to achieve success.
Nick Poole on Adam Carr, 'I have been a big fan of Adam as player since I first saw him play seven years ago for the Isle of Wight. He has developed into what I feel is the best two way British player in our league. Over the years he has matured into a leader on our team and is incredibly well thought of and respected in our changing room. He is a strong character and will have the backing of the entire team. We have a very young team and the foundations of our team have changed over the past few years. Carrsy is now one of the players that our team is built around and I believe he will be a fantastic captain and one that i know will help lead us to more success over the coming years. I know the players, management and fans will be very excited at the prospects of Adam leading us in the years to come'. New captain Adam Carr on his new post, '......It’s a massive honor for me that Nick has given me the captaincy and its something im obviously very proud of. Milton Keynes is one of the biggest names in British Ice hockey and it is a great club here, from the juniors, to the management, to the fans, and to the team we are putting out on the ice this year, so I am delighted to be leading us out on the ice. During my time here we have had two fantastic captains who brought their own leadership qualities to the team and I think I have learnt enough from those two guys to lead the team in the right direction. After speaking with Nick and most of the lads, I know I have the backing from all of them and from and Vito and Harry, which means a lot. We have put together a quality team again this year and we will be up there challenging for everything again! We have a relatively young team and we are hungry and ready to win some trophies. The league has improved again this year with the addition of Manchester and Basingstoke so it should be a great year and I can’t wait! Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks. |
