The Milton Keynes Lightning are pleased to announce the signings of both Grant McPherson and Ross Bowers for the upcoming season. Both talented forwards will add speed, skill and grit to our line-up. This will be Grant's third consecutive season with us and Ross is returning after a year out where he iced for both Basingstoke Bison and Slough Jets.
Grant, a former GB Under 20, has become a fan favorite for his 100% effort in all matches. Last season he started out on fire and was having a career year which was then hampered by a concussion that dented his momentum mid-season. 'Grant is a very versitile player that has a lot of skill. He brings energy and emotion to our team and is often a player that provides us with the spark we need in tight matches. He is a willing competitor and I know he has been working very hard to put weight on this summer and keep it on during the season. I believe if Grant can add a bit more muscle and strength to his frame he will be an even more effective player in our league'. Ross a product of the MK junior system returns after a season away. We are very pleased to have him back and are looking forward to him playing back to his best. Ross is a good athlete and a great skater with a very quick release. He has the potential to score a lot of goals in our league. He also has the ability to cause turnovers in the offensive end with his speed. 'Ross is back on his own merit. He is not replacing any player that has departed. I know he is very pleased to be back and is looking forward to playing back in MK. Ross has now had a season away from MK and has had several years of senior hockey in the UK. Whilst still quite young, we feel we will be seeing a much improved and more mature hockey player. He has the speed and skill that can play on all three lines and gives us more attacking options up front'. Stay tuned for more announcements. |
