Lightning Confirm Two More
Image With supporters of all clubs as eager as ever to know how their team's roster is shaping up for the 2011 season, Milton Keynes Lightning can now announce two more key offensive signings for the coming campaign.  Adam Brittle and assistant captain Matt Towalski have both committed themselves to the three-times English Premier League champions for the coming season.Image

Adam said he looks forward to helping Lightning re-stock the trophy cabinet again: "We were all disappointed to end last season without a trophy, given the very high standards we always set ourselves and so often achieve!  This year, with a strong British backbone to the team, I hope we can carry forward our form shown in the play-offs, to lift silverware again at the end of the year.  I can't wait to be a part of that success!"

Lightning Head Coach Nick Poole spoke of the qualities that both players bring to Lightning, and how pleased he is to have retained their services for another year.  “We’re thrilled to bring  them both back for another year, both are talented players that bring speed and energy to our line-up.

“I’ve always been an admirer of the way Adam plays - his skating and puck control are second to none on our team and he has the ability to make a play from nothing.  Last year Adam increased his point tally from his first year, and I see him adding to his totals again this coming season..

“Matty is part of the MKL furniture and a player we mustn’t take for granted. He is the heartbeat of our team and the driving force on the best third line in the league.  He’s a tough player to play against and always comes up with key goals when the team needs it most.  Matty will once again wear the 'A' as he is a proven leader on our team and I have no doubt that he will play a central role in our team achieving success this season.”

Like every one of their British colleagues at Lightning, both Adam and Matt have represented Team GB in international competition, both having played at U18 and U20 levels.

After starting his playing career in his native Telford, Adam moved south for spells with Wightlink Raiders and Swindon Wildcats. A haul of 31 goals in 52 games for the Raiders in the 08-09 season brought him to Lightning's attention and he moved to the Thunderdome a year later, where his tenacity puts rival team's defences to the test every week.

Whilst Stafford-born Matt developed his game with Slough Jets, it's with the Lightning that he perfected it, and the coming season will be his seventh consecutive campaign at the Thunderdome, where his speed and skill on the puck have made him a favourite.
