LIGHTNING REVEAL NEW KIT DESIGN, SPONSORS AND NEW PLAYERS

ImageSupporters of MK Lightning who attended the team's annual Meet the Players event on Wednesday had an exclusive first look at the shirts the players will wear for the 2011-12 campaign, and became the first to know who the club's primary sponsor for the season will be.  In addition they were treated to a surprise announcement of two additional signings for Lightning's roster.

The Lightning will be gunning for silverware with the Jackson Pyne name and logo in prime position on their match and warm-up shirts this season as the newest addition to their growing list of sponsors.  The Milton Keynes letting agent’s logo will be seen by over 1,000 supporters at Planet Ice every week, as well as gaining exposure at away rinks from Manchester to Swindon.

A mutual passion for success was just one of many synergies that prompted the partnership, said Jackson Pyne’s owner, Richard Walden: “Lightning is one of the most successful teams in Milton Keynes, and Jackson Pyne Lettings wants to be the most successful letting agent in the town – this is our tenth anniversary of trading in Milton Keynes and also the Lightning’s tenth season, so it was very appropriate to join forces.  We’re delighted that the team shirts will have our logo for the 2011 season, and we’ll be right behind the team in their push for more trophies to add to their collection”.

MK Lightning Club Chairman Harry Howton said, “It’s fantastic to welcome Jackson Pyne as a brand new sponsor, and be able to offer a local business a rare opportunity for this level of exposure.  As well as seeing their logo in a prime spot on our players’ shirts, a lot of our supporters back the team by buying replica shirts which will also carry the company’s name, so we hope they’ll really see a benefit from more widespread exposure.”

Another new partner confirmed for the club is Bluebeard’s Revenge, Bournemouth-based manufacturer of men’s grooming products.  The Bluebeard’s Revenge team filmed one of the Lightning’s recent training sessions to make a promotional film for their website (www.bluebeards-revenge.co.uk)  The team will feature on the brand’s website throughout the coming season, whilst their logo will be seen in the Lightning’s official matchday programme every home matchnight.  Bluebeard's Revenge joins Hotel Campanile, Northgate, David Lloyd, NCS, Red 19, B2 Promo Design, Body Limits, Centurion Asset, Motive 9 and Salming Hockey in teaming up with  MK Lightning to form a strong and formidable team.

The club also announced the capture of two additional player's signatures, confirming that Jamie Line and Ross Bowers will wear the Lightning colours this season. A product of the youth system in Milton Keynes, Jamie, 21, also has experience gained with Slough Jets and Basingstoke Bison.  Ross, 26, returns to the Lightning for his eigth season after contesting 2010-11 with MK Thunder.  Ross was a member of the Lightning roster which took the Premier League title in 2009-10.
