After a thrilling weekend of play off hockey, Lightning sealed an aggregate 7-5 win in Basingstoke last night to book their place in the final four at Coventry this upcoming weekend.
Taking a slim one goal lead down to Hampshire after winning 3-2 on saturday night, the team knew the task ahead of them. Cheered on by a huge following of the MKL faithful who were definately the extra man for them on the ice, the guys dug deep to record a 4-3 win on the night. Goals from Andre Smulter, Blaz Emersic and a double from man of the match Monir Kalgoum ensured that Lightning would join Manchester Phoenix, Guildford Flames and Peterborough Phantoms in the EPL play off semi finals in Coventry this upcoming weekend. |
