It was a great weekend for the MK Storm juniors with several of our youngest players representing the South West of England in a tournament in Holland. Jake Southwood, John Cawley, Lewis Jobbling and Andrew Pankhurst all played for the U11 team that narrowly missed out on a medal opportunity. This comes only a few weeks after Jordan Hedley and Tom Mboya represented England in their respective age groups.
Within the club several of MK's U18 players had starring roles with both the Thunder and Lightning along with a fine 3-1 victory of the Bracknell U18 side. Ross Green was arguably Man of the Match against Slough for the MKL on Saturday and then played his part along with N/M Jake Scriven on Sunday.
The Thunder had Jacob Heron, Jack Robinson and Mitch Starkey all providing key roles in their win on Saturday and narrow loss on Sunday. Well done to all!
A Few Places Left On Easter Hockey Camp
There are only a few places left on the Easter Hockey Camp that is taking place April 6-10th (8am -10am). At only £95.00 this represents one of the best value for money hockey camps in England. Joakim Wiklander and Andre Smulter will both be guest coaches along with other MKL players.

Supporter's Club Strike Again
This Sunday against the Telford Tigers will see the MKL Supporter's Club presenting us with another cheque. The MKLSC have presented us with several cheques this season along with weekly contributions that have enabled us to ice a very competitive team. On behalf of the entire team and management I would like to once again thank all the Club members, the volunteers on match night and all those that have contributed to the Supporter's Club over the course of the season. I firmly believe that we have the best Supporter's and Supporter's Club in UK hockey. Thank You!

Adam has had physio this week and seems to be responding fairly well. We are hopeful that he will be back in action for next weekend's matches.

Lewis and Team GB Take Home Silver
Saturday, 17 January 2009
Congrats to Lewis Christie and the GB under 20's for winning the silver medal at the World Junior Championships in Spain this past week. Lewis and the rest of the lads went undefeated after losing the opening match to Croatia on day one of the tournament. We look forward to having Lewis back in the line up for the weekend's matches.
Glen Trivett
Saturday, 13 December 2008
I am very pleased to announce that Glen is feeling fine (nasty headache!) after last nights game. Glen was unconscious after receiving a huge hit late in the third period. He will be out for an indefinate period of time (one to two weeks) which is standard procedure for a concussion.
At the conclusion of last night's game Swindon were asked to leave the ice without a handshake by the ref who handled the situation very well. It is never the way you want to see a game concluded but under the circumstances I feel it was the right decision. The hit itself was clean but I do feel it was poorly judged and was unnecessary. At the end of the day we are all fellow professionals and I know no-one likes to see a player injured. I would like to thank the supporters and Planet Ice staff for there help in dealing with the situation and also a big thanks to the Swindon trainer and the players that were concerned with Glen's well-being.
