Young defender Lewis Christie will ice tonight for the Basingstoke Bison in Nottingham, along side late call up Forward James Archer. The Bison have recently lost a few players to various injuries and circumstance and will be short staffed for the difficult game in Nottingham. Lewis, who has impressed this season with the Lightning is on a two-way agreement with the Bison and will play games for them when available. We wish both Lewis and the Bison well!
Mixed Results, But Improved Performance
Tuesday, 28 October 2008
Saturday's disappointing 2-1 loss to the Phantoms set up what was easily our most complete performance of the season on Sunday in Bracknell. On Saturday we started the first 8-10 minutes very tentatively and nervous and looked like a team that was struggling with confidence.
MKL are pleased to announce that defender Lewis Christie will be back in the line up for this weekend's matches. Lewis, who injured his neck in a car accident has returned from Scotland and is excited to be back in the squad.
Lightning Strike Twice This Past Weekend
Thursday, 09 October 2008
What a difference a week can make in sport. This past weekend saw us banish the troubles of seven days ago and get off the mark in our league campaign. With back to back wins against Guildford (home) and then away in Sheffield an air of confidence has returned to the team.
Well a frustrating start to our League campaign this past weekend saw us drop both games and start the season empty handed. Understandably, this is very frustrating for both players and supporters alike.
With this past weekend's Ashes overtime defeat to Peterborough concluding our pre-season campaign we can now look to the weekend ahead and the start of the 2008/09 season.
Well done to the Stars for there great victory in today's final against the Flyers. Over the course of the summer the Stars were undoubtably the best team and deserved the victory.
