MKL Expect Battle In Crucial Match

Milton Keynes Lightning are expecting a hard fought battle on Saturday night as we play host to the Swindon Wildcats.  The match is a must win game for us as we look to try and advance to the semi-finals of the Premier Cup competition.   A win will give us the opportunity to go to Slough in a weeks time and play the Jets for the final place in the semi-finals.

After last Sunday's 7-2 win in Swindon we are aware that the 'Cats will be out for revenge and will be looking to turn the tables on us.  The Jets have also brought in a new forward who is no stranger to some of the longer serving MK hockey fans.  James Knight who began his career in Milton Keynes has signed for the 'Cats and will be making his debut this coming weekend.  James has Elite League experience and is a tough two-way player that can put the puck in the back of the net.  We are expecting a much more physical game from Swindon as things got quite heated in the final few minutes last Sunday.

We will once again be without the services of Grant McPherson who has suffered a hip injury and will be out for a few weeks.  We will certainly miss Grant's all action performances but we are looking forward to him coming back healthy as he has been playing for some time with various knocks.  This will give Jacob and Jamie an opportunity to get more ice time over the coming weeks.
