Four Point Weekend Sets Us Up Nicely For Next Weekend
With three wins on the bounce and finally a four point weekend sees us secure sole possesion of third place and sets us two big games next weekend against the two teams that are directly ahead of us.  With excellent performances against both Sheffield and Telford away from home last Sunday and this Saturday respectively and then a first home win in three weekends we are feeling full of confidence.

This past weekend saw us avenge previous losses to Telford and Wightlink.  The Telford game was another great road performance that saw us come out of the traps quickly and play some very confident and stingy road hockey.  With four goals from Gary Clarke (7 in the past three games) and James Archer adding four in the last four games we are starting to hit form in front of net.  It was great to have both Lewis and Adam back in the line-up so we could get back to playing 3 line hockey.

The Wightlink game was quite similar to the previous game which we lost but this time we were able to get our noses in front and managed to win the match 7-4.  Although we as a team were not happy with our overall performance we are pleased with the two points as in previous weeks we have played better and lost.  Defensively we were a bit loose and gave up far too many odd numbered attacks against but thankfully we managed to compensate for this at the other end of the ice.  We know we will have to be much tighter in the weekend ahead.

However, overall I am very happy with the feel and level of performance over the past few weeks. Our away form has been superb and I have little doubt we will start to duplicate this at home.  This weekend sees us take on our direct competitors and we are relishing the challenge of pegging back some points.  We hope to see a bumper crowd on Saturday as we take on the league leaders.
